Ladakh, a place which I think most of us want to visit with our friends and make it the most thrilling road trip ever! The “Land of High Passes” is a region in Jammu and Kashmir whereas it’s culture is closely related to Tibet. The best time to visit this place is between May-September at this time place begins to warm up with tourist activity. If Kashmir is “Paradise on Earth” then Ladakh is no less. Beauty studded lakes, snow-capped mountains, green patches of land, bright blue skies and unimaginable terrains. It leaves no stone unturned to impress you! Moreover, for all bike enthusiasts, this place is a must on their bucket list. Bikers ride across Ladakh to reach the Chang La and Khardung La pass. The Khardung La pass is the highest motorable pass in the world.

Gurudwara Pathar Sahib

Gurudwara Pathar Sahib is a Sikh temple constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji which is 25 miles away from Leh, it is on the Leh-Kargil Road. The Tibetan Buddhists living over there consider him as a saint. The 25 km road is in a very good condition, you can go there by bus or taxi.

Well, I got to know about this lake from 3 Idiots. During the winter season, the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water. It’s Pangong-Tso Lake that traverses the boundary international boundary to stretch from India to Bhutan. The lake offers a beautiful location for camping but boating is not allowed in the lake.

Near the Leh Airfield, a museum constructed by the Indian Army in the memory of soldiers who had lost their lives in Indo-Pak wars. It is termed as a memorial for the war heroes. The building consists of two floors while on the ground floor there is information about the brave soldiers as and a souvenir shop, the first floor there are artifacts of various wars. There is one another section that is dedicated to Siachen glacier.

How to reach-

By Air- Leh Kushok Bikola Rimpochee Airport is the main airport area. The flights are directly connected from Delhi, Srinagar and Jammu which are run by Air India, Go Air and Jet Airways. The schedules are set though but there are subject to change according to the weather. It is advised that you keep your plans flexible.

By Road- Srinagar-Leh-434km, Manali-Leh 473km, Srinagar-Kragil 204km and Delhi-Leh 1047 km.
