“Gar firdaus bar-rue zamin ast, hami asto, hamin asto, hamin ast” said by Jahangir, Fourth Mughal Emperor.

The meaning of this quote is that if there is HEAVEN on Earth, it is here, it is here, it is here. Kashmir is definitely Paradise on Earth. I went to this beautiful place in June 2016 for 10 days. One thing I’m totally convinced about is the beauty of this state is breathtaking. It has always been more than a mere place. It has the quality of an experience, or a state of mind, or perhaps an ideal. I had lived and enjoyed the best days of my life in this paradise. Through this post, I’m going to share my experiences that I will treasure for a lifetime.

Dal Lake-Kashmir

Kashmir‘s capital city, Srinagar offers delightful holidays on the famous Dal Lake with their Shikaras and Houseboats. Srinagar offers a variety of attractions to its tourists. Its waterways with their own quaint lifestyle, the unique houseboat, the blossoming gardens, water sports activities and hand-crafted souvenirs.

For me the best place in Kashmir was GULMARG. It is located in the Baramullah District, this town is situated in the Pirpanjal range in the western Himalayas. It is very popular as a Skiing destination and Gandola rides.

The last place left to visit was PAHALGAM. It is situated in the Anantnag district of Kashmir. Pehelgam has some remarkable views to witness. Some of the well-known tourist attractions are Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, Chandanwari and Pahalgam Golf Course. I also did some horse riding there because it is not possible to walk so much distance on foot when there are transport facilities available after a point. While horse riding one can see the greenery and lush mountains of Pahalgam.

Do carry your woolens while you’re visiting Kashmir because of the weather conditions. Hotel Taj is the best in Srinagar otherwise all the hotels near the Dal Lake are nice, but make sure you have an advance booking so that you don’t face any trouble. And most importantly, Prepaid Sim cards don’t work in the whole state because of security reasons so carry your Postpaid Sim cards.

Once in your life visit Kashmir. This place was always there on my bucket list and I’m glad I was fortunate enough to visit this magnificent place. Once you have visited this place you will agree what began as a dream lives on as an unforgettable experience. There is Lightning and Thunder, Miracles and Wonder, Sounds of many Water, truly HEAVEN ON EARTH!
